Music

Tonight there was a band (Half Tone Wolf Pack) playing on a corner in 5 points...and they totally made my night....the CD I bought isn't that great (well, I actually haven't even really listened to it, just a few seconds of a couple songs)...but there's no way it could compare to the way they sounded on that corner.  It was a quintet from Denver, Colorado...drums, banjo, violin, accordion, and a guitar...and they absolutely made my night.  It was such a warm full sound..the banjo and the accordion. I loved it.  Nothing beats some good busking.  Then we went to Bey's to watch Chris Jr and Isaac's band Ye Almighty play...the first band was wretched but Ye Almighty was pretty good.  The vocals weren't great (but you couldn't really hear them so they may have been alright in another setting)...but the musicians were awesome.  Chris is amazing on the drums...I really love to watch him play because he's incredibly talented and makes it look effortless.  And I loved watching Isaac because he's so into the music and you can just see how much he loves music and playing it...it really makes me miss playing in a group...even if I did just play in a concert band in school...but nothing compares to that feeling.  Music is golden, it unites, it creates harmony, it can make you happy...or sad...it brings back memories you didn't even know you had...you can hear a song and remember a specific event or time in your life...you can sing an entire song you haven't heard in ages...it can cheer you up and make everything ok again...it is the same in every language.  Music makes the world go round.
